Overview of The Design Fund and What We Are Hiring For:
At The Design Fund, we are pioneering a new accelerator and pre-seed venture fund specifically for the home goods and design space. Our mission is to empower the next generation of startups by providing them with mentorship, networking, and early-stage funding. Imagine if, in their early days, brands like Wayfair, Houzz, and Amazon could have come to the design community for guidance and investment. We are creating that opportunity by enlisting brands, manufacturers, influencers, and design celebrities to commit an annual amount to help fund early-stage startups in our industry.
To educate, mentor, vet, and align these startups with the funds we raise, we are forming a robust business accelerator program. This is where The Design Fund needs your help. We are seeking passionate individuals to join us as founding team members, either on a paid or volunteer basis. We have a variety of positions available and would love to discuss how you can fit into our team.
Responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities may include any of the following, depending on role with The Design Fund:
• Assist in the formation and structuring of new businesses.
• Develop and refine investor pitch decks.
• Build and manage cap tables.
• Conduct business and financial analytics.
• Facilitate fundraising efforts and manage investor relations.
• Oversee the distribution of equity and early-stage funding.
• Plan and execute events, including pitch events and investor meetings.
• Build and manage teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Create and manage community engagement initiatives.
• Produce high-quality content, including writing, film, and photography.
• Lead classroom sessions and workshops for startups.
• Drive sales, marketing, and growth hacking efforts.
• Manage Google Ads and other digital marketing campaigns.
• Develop and maintain websites using no-code tools.
• Handle business administration and operations.
• Guide product development and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate press and media relations.
• Manage product licensing efforts.

• Some travel may be required for events and meetings.
• Hybrid work environment: a combination of remote and in-person work.
• Availability for Zoom calls and virtual meetings.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. in some cases.
